By Car:
We’re about 8 minutes from Junction 16 of the M6.
On leaving the M6 motorway at Junction 16, head west towards Nantwich and Chester on the A500. In 2.2 miles at the first roundabout take the first exit onto the A531 towards Weston and Keele. At the next roundabout, please take the second exit onto Newcastle Road, towards Nantwich and Chester. Continue for 1.9 miles and you will see an Esso garage on your left. We’re the next property on your left. Look for signs. Somebody will be there to help you with parking.
By Train and Cab:
We’re about a 10-minute drive from Crewe station.
There are always plenty of cabs at the designated taxi rank at the station.
Other local firms include:
Crewe Cabs 01270 667235
My Cab Crewe and Nantwich 01270 665544
A Stars Taxis 01270 500500
Ubers are usually readily available via the App
Who’s Coming:
We’ve invited a variety of lovely friends and wonderful family, some of whom we see often and spend a lot of time with and others who we hope will join us who we haven’t seen for some time and who we would love to see again and catch up with.
Please come and join us if you’re available and you’d like to party; we’d love to see you.
Parking:
Parking is available on the field where the marquee for the party is situated. There will be stewards who will help you to park.
If you need a Blue Badge space closer to the entrance, please let us know in advance. We can arrange this.
If you would like to leave your vehicle and collect it the following day you’re welcome to do this.
Parking is on a field which is normally dry and drains well, we should have no problems getting on and off even in wet weather but please note parking is at your own risk.
Overnight Camping:
I suspect that there might not be many people who would like to camp, but we do have a smaller paddock closer to the house which can accommodate tents, caravans and motorhomes.
Please let us know if you intend to stay and we’ll arrange an earlier arrival time.
There is water and a toilet in the garden but sorry, we don’t have electric hookups.
Accommodation:
There are several good options for accommodation locally at all price points.

What to Wear:
Please dress for a party!
We would love to see all our friends dressed up in black tie and party wear.
So DJ’s for the men – any interpretation is very welcome. Ladies, dress to impress.
However, we also want everyone to have a great time so wear what makes you comfortable!
Why The Celebrations:
Well firstly the Woottons are overdue a party.
You’re possibly aware that Wendy and David have landmark (70) birthdays this year, Anna has turned 40 and Wendy’s mum would have been 100 in August.
David has been Master of the Worshipful Company of Educators this year and so is celebrating.
So, there’s a few good excuses but none should ever be needed for spending fun time with our friends!
Music:
Of course there’s going to be live music and lots of it!
There will be cool jazz playing at the reception on the terrace.
Then the party gets started with the Trent River Big Band.
Wendy and David have been playing with this wonderful band for several years and they just get better.
There’s a dance floor if you would like to dance, or just sit and enjoy the music over a few drinks.
After supper everything switches to party mode with cocktails and a party band playing until midnight.
Food:
A delicious hot supper along with salads will be served inside the marquee between the bands.
If you have dietary requirements please let us know on the form and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
Drinks:
The evening will start with a ‘fizz’ reception and photographs on the terrace
Enjoy a drink (or three) with us; there will be an open bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
There will be a central bar in the marquee with some interesting offers with a local twist, alongside more traditional favourites.
A selection of wines will be served with supper.
The party gears up with special party cocktails after supper alongside the normal bar service.
Gifts:
Thank you so much but we don’t wish for any gifts for us, just a fantastic evening with all our friends simply enjoying your company is more than enough.
However, if you do wish to mark the occasion, David is a trustee of Cheshire Community Foundation.
It’s an amazing charity which means a very great deal to us both.
If you feel the need to give a gift please could we ask that you look at the website https://cheshirecommunityfoundation.org.uk/ and see just some of the amazing work that CCF are able to enable and support. Please also have a look at the Cheshire 100 online.
Don’t feel in any way that you need to contribute anything at all but if you do we know that any funds will be put to extremely good use and that you will touch the lives of many people and families.
Please mark your donations, ‘Wootton’.
Timings:
The party will kick off at 7.00 pm with ‘bubbles’, live music and a reception on the terrace.
So please aim to arrive just before 7.00pm if possible.
Carriages will be at midnight.
The Party:
Events are taking place in the marquee on the field.
There will be an elegant marquee, but you will need to walk across the grass which will be short but of course we have no control over the weather.
Access:
There are a few steps up to the marquee.
If you require a ramped access please let us know ASAP so that this can be organised.
The toilets are up a few steps. There is a level entry toilet at the house. Please let us know if you will need this.
Contacts:
We are so hoping that you are able to come and so looking forward to seeing you.
